Stochastic dynamic analysis and experimental study on pressure fluctuation of plunger pumps

Abstract

Considering the randomness of fluid-flow, rotor rotation and so on, a stochastic dynamic expression for pressure fluctuation of a plunger pumps was presented.It was found that the random parameter for pressure fluctuation is extreme I distribution with the experiment of three plunger pump-pipe systems.Using the proposed expression and Monte Carlo simulation, the stochastic pipeline displacement response was analyzed.It was shown that the extreme I distribution can be used to model the pressure fluctuation and the displacement response; the 1/3 frequency doubling of random pressure fluctuation is consistent with experiment results; the agreement of experimental and numerical analysis implies that the proposed expression can be used to simulate the randomness of pressure fluctuation, which is important for the safety and reliability design of a pipeline system.
