Abstract

A multi-section dynamic model was introduced to simulate vibration transfer in a towed cable system. The vibration isolation design was aimed to obtain stable towing.A qualitative model was built to describe vibration attenuation in the damping system with a brief summary of damping components in a towed cable system. The damp could be tensional structural damp, hydrodynamic damp and spatial curving and twisting damp according to their contributing factor.Transfer property was simulated under given forced vibrations with different design parameters. These parameters change the levels of towed cable damp with different system responses.Dampers were applied in the system.Resonance and secondary damp was found in the simulations.
