Abstract

When oil product and crude oil are transported by oil delivery pumps, the violent vertical vibration often occurs at the non-driving end of bearing box, which will lead to some unfavorable effects, such as pump shell cracking, fast abrasion of bearings and seal leakage of the pipe. Besides, auxiliary lines on pump would crack at the welding position and as a result the oil will leak out. All of the possible problems bring great challenges for management of equipments. Considering that the oil pump often works at the fixed frequency, the bellows type dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) is employed to reduce the vibration of oil delivery pumps. The obtained results show that the vibration level of pumps with the bellows type DVA can be suppressed by more than 55%, and it proves that the proposed dynamic vibration absorber can provide one ideal approach for the vibration reduction of oil pumps.
