Wind deflection response characteristics of transmission lines under downburst

Abstract

in order to study the wind deflection response characteristics of transmission lines under downburst, a three-dimensional transient wind field model of downburst is established based on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method. Meanwhile, the distribution characteristics of downburst wind profile are illustrated. By comparing the calculated results with the empirical theoretical model, it is found that they are in good agreement. This also verifies the correctness of the numerical simulation method. On this basis, taking the four gear transmission line as the engineering background, the influence laws of insulator string wind deflection angle and span central conductor wind deflection displacement are studied from the following three aspects: the change of transmission line span and conductor tension, the change of relative position between storm center and transmission line, and the change of downburst jet inclination. The relationship between the maximum wind deflection of transmission line insulator string and the position of storm center is analyzed. Finally, the nonlinear time history analysis of wind deflection response of transmission line is carried out according to the generation, subsidence, impact and diffusion process of downburst. It reveals that the wind deflection response law of transmission line insulator string in the life cycle of downburst.
