Indirect identification of shield tunnel damage based on wavelet energy spectrum

Abstract

The healthy service of metro shield tunnels is vital important to the normal operation of urban rail transit. Taking the long lining shield tunnel as research object, an indirect damage identification method based on the wavelet energy spectrum is proposed, which combines the indirect measurement method and the wavelet analysis method. The finite element model of coupled vibration of moving vehicle and shield tunnel is established. The continuous wavelet transform is applied to the vertical vibration acceleration response of a vehicle passing through a shield tunnel at uniform speed to obtain the signal energy spectrum distribution in the time domain. The damage identification index of shield tunnel based on wavelet energy spectrum is established. Numerical examples show that the method accurately identify single damage and multiple damage conditions of shield tunnel, and the influence of vehicle speed, measurement noise and roughness on damage identification results are analyzed. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed indirect damage identification method for shield tunnel is verified by laboratory tests.
