Identification of parameters of explosive JWL state equation based on genetic algorithm

Abstract

In order to obtain the parameters of JWL(Jones-Wilkins-Lee) equation of state (EOS) of detonation products for explosives accurately and conveniently. A method for identifying the parameters of JWL EOS of detonation products for CHNO explosives was proposed based on the Genetic Algorithm and cylinder energy model. Compared with the traditional cylinder test, the cost of obtaining JWL parameters of the explosive can be greatly reduced by this method. The parameters of JWL EOS can be determined when the initial density and detonation velocity of the explosive are known. The JWL parameters of four explosives were identified using this method, and the results show that the deviation of four P-V curves between the identified JWL EOS and standard JWL EOS is small, and the values of determination coefficient of the identified curves are all greater than 0.99. The numerical results show that the radial displacement curves of the outer cylinder wall calculated by identified parameters are close to that calculated by standard parameters, which proves the validity and high precision of the Genetic Algorithm in identifying the parameters of JWL EOS.
