Electro-mechanical coupled dynamic characteristics of micro piezoelectric motors for driving control of OCT endoscope

Abstract

Focusing on the driving and controlling of the OCT endoscopic, a micro piezoelectric motor with diameter 1 mm and length 5 mm is designed and developed. The dynamic response of the motor stator under the external excitation voltage was derived by using the Timoshenko beam theory and modal summation, combining with the Hamilton principle, the particle displacement and ellipse trajectory of the stator surface were further calculated; Furthermore, the whole electromechanical coupling dynamics model of the micro-motor was established by using the friction contact model and the torque balance model. The effects of different parameters on the torque-speed, torque-efficiency and load characteristics were simulated and analyzed. The results show that the motor speed decreases with the increase of load. When the excitation voltage with amplitude 30 V and frequency 21 kHz is applied, the maximum no-load speed and torque are 400 rpm and 2.4 mN•m, which meets the requirements of OCT endoscope drive control application.
