Energy dissipation of concrete slabs under low-speed impact

Abstract

Aiming at the problem of energy dissipation of concrete slabs under low-speed impact,six groups of concrete slab specimens were tested under low-speed impact using a drop hammer device.The elastic deformation energy of the specimens was calculated based on the theory of elastic mechanics,and the plastic deformation energy of the specimens was obtained through the law of energy conservation.The influence of concrete strength and drop hammer impulse on the energy dissipation of concrete slab failure was analyzed.The results show that 98% of the energy absorbed by the concrete slab under low velocity impact is consumed by plastic deformation energy;The strength of concrete can not completely determine the energy consumption of plastic deformation energy of concrete slabs under low velocity impact.The plastic deformation energy of concrete slabs increases with the increase in the impact energy,and presents a good linear relationship.This study can provide a reference for improving the protection ability of concrete slab members under low velocity impact,and it is necessary for the design of protection engineering.
