Abstract

Abstract: The study of the dynamic characteristics of Planetary Roller Screw (PRSM) revealed significant gaps, particularly regarding the time-varying meshing stiffness of drive pairs and nonlinear factors. A dynamic modeling method for PRSM is proposed, which considers friction damping and time-varying meshing stiffness, employing a 'torsional-translation-axial' approach. A dynamics model framework is established by using the lumped-mess method, with motion equations derived from D'Alembert's principle. A cantilever beam model for the gear pair and an axial stiffness model for the thread pair are constructed, integrating potential energy method, direct stiffness method and Hertz contact theory to obtain meshing stiffness parameters. Finally, the Runge-Kutta method is utilized to solve the motion equations, and the model's accuracy is validated against a rigid body dynamics model, further revealing PRSM's vibration characteristics. These findings provide a theoretical foundation for fault characteristic analysis and intelligent diagnosis of PRSM.
